Course Description

Program Overview:
The Certified Yoga Instructor (CYI) program is designed to equip aspiring yoga teachers with foundational knowledge and practical skills to lead safe, effective, and inspiring yoga classes. The course blends traditional yogic science with modern teaching methodologies, enabling participants to teach confidently across various settings — studios, schools, corporate wellness programs, and more.
Successful completion awards the title Certified Yoga Instructor (CYI).

Course Objectives:
  • Understand the fundamentals of yoga philosophy and ethics.

  • Learn anatomy and physiology relevant to yoga practice.

  • Master classical asanas (postures), pranayama (breathwork), and dhyana (meditation).

  • Develop safe and effective yoga sequences for diverse populations.

  • Cultivate skills in cueing, adjustment, and class management.

  • Prepare to inspire students physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Module 1: Foundations of Yoga

  • History and origin of Yoga

  • Paths of Yoga (Bhakti, Karma, Jnana, Raja)

  • Yoga Sutras and essential philosophies

Module 2: Anatomy & Physiology for Yoga

  • Skeletal system, muscular system, joints and movement

  • Respiratory and circulatory systems

  • Safe practice guidelines

Module 3: Asanas (Postures)

  • Categories of asanas: standing, seated, twists, backbends, inversions

  • Benefits, contraindications, modifications

  • Alignment principles and injury prevention

Module 4: Pranayama and Meditation

Module 5: Teaching Methodology
